Remembering Cocoa

My first year without Cocoa has had a lot of ups and downs.  It feels a bit like a blur, as if no time has passed at all, but yet it feels as if eons have passed.  I'm not sure if everyone who goes through grief experiences this weird time anomaly but it has been mine.

Drawing Diary for July

I'm having a hard time believing that it's August already but still it almost feels like time is really slow too.  Ever since Cocoa passed last year the passage of time has been really odd for me. Anyway...onto the few pieces that I completed in July.  It was not a very good month health wise so I often felt too sick or hurt too much to be able to do much with art.  However, I did get a few things accomplished.

GW2: Path of FIre

July 25th saw the last chapter of Living World Season 3 released.  Players have been hoping for an expansion after the season ended and AreNanet did not disappoint.  Just a few days ago on the first of August they announced their second expansion, Path of Fire.  Here are some of my thoughts on what they told us.

Rolling Queen

One thing I have learned since bringing Gemma to Missouri is that she absolutely loves to roll.  More recently I've been learning that her favorite place to roll is in the arena.  Sand rains supreme and the drier it is the better.

The Smiley Cocoa Series

Some how it seems fitting that I'm posting this today instead of yesterday.  For it is the twenty first of the month and marks one more to go for my first entire year with out Cocoa.  It's funny how events can work out to such a thing as this.

Drawing Diary for June

One thing I've been learning is that I tend to get too serious about making art.  I focus on wanting a pretty and polished looking end product.  So, instead I'm trying to change my focus to the process and playing with that process.  Then whatever the outcome is to be happy that I enjoyed the time spent making the piece.

Bonding with Gemma

As of July 12th I will have had Gemma at the barn for three months.  I can't believe it's been that long already and yet it feels like no time at all.  We have had some downs but mostly everything has been an up.  Our time together is incredibly fun and she's helping give me a summer of happiness instead of sorrow.
